Why the Folk Fest Rocked, Pt. 2

Whew! What a time was had at the Calgary Folk Festival! Iron and Wine blew my mind, The Barr Bothers were wicked, Beirut was amazing, Chris Isaac was superb, and if I keep thinking about all of the fantastic music that I heard while there my brain might explode! Check out the Folk Fest Flickr Photostream for yummy, juicy pics…

The folk fest also rocked for so many other wicked reasons:

  • I got to eat from a solar-powered sushi truck
  • The weather was stunning
  • This was the most well-organized festival I have ever experienced
  • The free bicycle lock up was a delight to use
  • Watching the daily morning rush for the best spots at the main stage was like watching the land rush in Far & Away
  • That Bow River was the most beautiful aqua blue
  • Geting to eat Indian Food whenever I wanted was a gift from the food gods
  • Meeting so many fellow vendors, artists, musicians, and crafting enthusiasts

Thank you to everyone who popped by the STASH booth at the Art’s Market. It was lovely to see familiar faces, meet new people, and  a pleasure to talk with all of you about your love of music, vintage, crafting, and knitting. I think that you guys are the reason that the folk fest rocked so much. Cheers.
