Learn to Knit

This awesome two-part class will have you knitting up a storm in no time, and you even get to knit a sweet buttoned cowl as you learn! Basics covered include casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, basic pattern reading, buttonholes, casting off and more – all in 5 hours of instruction. Bam! Knit with Big Loop at STASH

Big Loop Blanket

We are pleased to offer the class with the squishiest, biggest, and most luxurious yarn in the land – Big Loop by Loopy Mango from Soho, New York! In this class you will knit flat on circular needles and learn all the tricks to knitting with this yarn of epic proportion. We will also demo our tips on how to weave in those ends! As well as the needles and yarn every participant gets a felting needle for finishing. In this learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, basic ribbing, and casting off.

Brioche Shawl Club
$30 plus tax, peeps must work with yarn purchased at STASH

I could Ramble on about the fantastic Range of Briochealicious shawls designed by Andrea Mowry but why not discover them for yourself in our sweet knit along? This KAL is perfect for those who have some basic brioche skills already and want to take it up a notch on a shawl project with like-minded peeps. Participants MUST already know how to brioche knit to participate in this KAL, and some shawl experience is an asset.

Our KAL stretches over three months (the third Friday of each month) to give you time to work through your project with support from STASH instructor Stephanie and your brioche-y peers!

Brooklyn Tweed Sweater KAL
$40 plus tax, peeps must work with yarn purchased at STASH

Pick A Brooklyn Tweed-worthy sweater pattern, purchase the yarn at STASH, and join Veronica for a fun knit along! This class will review swatching, types of sweater construction, discuss techniques for managing your project, & review finishing techniques such as assembly and blocking. All participants will have a chance to discuss their pattern selection with the group and get ongoing guidance for their project! Peeps MUST be comfortable with knitting and general pattern reading to participate.

Cabled Headband
$60 plus tax, all supplies included

Knit an adorable cabled headband and learn the art of cabling at the same time! This single session class will teach you how to cable in two directions, how to read cable charts, and some fun finishing techniques! Seriously, cabling is super fun and once you get the scoop on it, you are going to get cable fever (that’s like cabin fever but involves manically cabling things).  In this learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, basic ribbing, and casting off.

Christmas Stocking

We know that you’ve always wanted to knit a custom Christmas stocking for your fam jam and this year we want to help make that dream come true! In this learning environment you will be guided through how to customize a chart, manage intermediate colourwork challenges, and tackle an afterthought heel. Participants MUST know how to knit in the round on circulars and be comfortable with stranded colourwork to take the class, and experience with socks and double point needles is a definite asset.

Classic Socks

Want to knit socks but you are new to double point needles? This awesome three-part class will guide you through how to use double points while learning classic sock anatomy such as knitting the heel flap, turning a heel, picking up stitches and shaping the toe! Once you take this class your sock knitting skills will be tight.

For this intermediate class peeps must be very comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, decreasing, and have at least 20 hours of knitting time under their belt. Practice up peeps!

Colourwork Crash Course

Whether you want to knit the perfect fair isle sweater for your fur baby or you simply NEED a sweater with a howling wolf on the front in your life, then this is the class for you. This single session class will teach you how to knit with two colours at a time two ways (stranding and intarsia), how to read colourwork charts, how to switch colours, and basic finishing techniques! You will get to knit your very own colourwork sampler which is freaking adorable.

Peeps must be good at casting on, knitting, and purling to take this class. Practice up peeps!

Colourwork Hat

Take your colourwork skills to the next level with this three-part class and learn about the twisted rib stitch, colourwork in the round, reading multiple charts, tacking tips, and patterned colourwork decreases!  This is a great warm-up project for those wanting to knit a colourwork yoke sweater (creep on design Caitlyn Hunter for inspiration). In this learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, and basic ribbing in the round, and also have a basic understanding of stranded colourwork to take the class.

Finishing Techinques

Shake off that feeling of dread that you get when you need to finish a project and let us demystify finishing techniques! This single session class will give you oodles of practical knowledge on mattress stitching, shoulder seaming,  weaving in ends, and blocking methods. Also, the least 30 minutes of the class is perfect to pick the instructor’s brain with specific questions about a project that you may currently need to finish! Get ‘er done! No experience necessary!

Magic Loop Crash Course

Ever want to knit a hat, mitten, sock, sleeve, or other tube without double points? Take your tube-knittin’ to the next level and take this crash course on how to knit using the Magic Loop technique! We will get you going on how to cast on and set up your stitches, how to join your work, how to knit using the magic loop technique, and how to address common magic loop questions and concerns.  In this learning environment, participants must already know how to knit in the round and be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, basic ribbing, and casting off.

Mittens for Ya!

Want to knit mittens but you are new to double point needles? This awesome three-part class will guide you through how to use double points while learning classic mitten anatomy such as knitting the thumb gusset, holding stitches, shaping the top, and knitting the thumb! Once you take this class your mitten knitting skills will be tight.

Sock Club

Join our club and be guided through intermediate and advanced sock techniques! Enjoy weekly presentations on socktacular topics such as: toe up socks, afterthought heels, and magic loop techniques – with hands-on demonstrations to boot! The club includes one skein of Madeline Tosh or Ancient Arts sock yarn, a sweet Addi circular needle, and assorted sock-y accessories. Peeps MUST know how to knit a basic sock OR have taken a Slipper Sock/Little Socks class at STASH to register.

In this three-part class you will learn the art of thrumming – how to prepare the roving, knit in thrums and stay in pattern – all while reviewing the core concepts of mittens such as thumb gussets and shaping the top!
