Knit with Big Loop at STASH

Big Loop Blanket

We are pleased to offer the class with the squishiest, biggest, and most luxurious yarn in the land – Big Loop by Loopy Mango from Soho, New York! In this class you will knit flat on circular needles and learn all the tricks to knitting with this yarn of epic proportion. We will also demo our tips on how to weave in those ends! As well as the needles and yarn every participant gets a felting needle for finishing. In this learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, basic ribbing, and casting off.

Bold Brioche

Awww yeahhhhhhhh, brioche is in the house! This super class will teach you the basics of one colour and two colour brioche, and will discuss other intermediate brioche techniques that are used by crazy peeps like Stephen West (don’t know him? Then google him). In this intermediate learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, basic ribbing, and casting off.

Cabled Headband

Knit an adorable cabled headband and learn the art of cabling at the same time! This single session class will teach you how to cable in two directions, how to read cable charts, and some fun finishing techniques! Seriously, cabling is super fun and once you get the scoop on it, you are going to get cable fever (that’s like cabin fever but involves manically cabling things).  In this learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, basic ribbing, and casting off.

Classic Socks

Want to knit socks but you are new to double point needles? This awesome three-part class will guide you through how to use double points while learning classic sock anatomy such as knitting the heel flap, turning a heel, picking up stitches and shaping the toe! Once you take this class your sock knitting skills will be tight.

For this intermediate class peeps must be very comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, decreasing, and have at least 20 hours of knitting time under their belt. Practice up peeps!

Colourwork Crash Course

Whether you want to knit the perfect fair isle sweater for your fur baby or you simply NEED a sweater with a howling wolf on the front in your life, then this is the class for you. This single session class will teach you how to knit with two colours at a time two ways (stranding and intarsia), how to read colourwork charts, how to switch colours, and basic finishing techniques! You will get to knit your very own colourwork sampler which is freaking adorable.

Peeps must be good at casting on, knitting, and purling to take this class. Practice up peeps!

Colourwork Hat

Take your colourwork skills to the next level with this three-part class and learn about the twisted rib stitch, colourwork in the round, reading multiple charts, tacking tips, and patterned colourwork decreases!  This is a great warm-up project for those wanting to knit a colourwork yoke sweater (creep on design Caitlyn Hunter for inspiration). In this learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, and basic ribbing in the round, and also have a basic understanding of stranded colourwork to take the class.

Finishing Techinques

Shake off that feeling of dread that you get when you need to finish a project and let us demystify finishing techniques! This single session class will give you oodles of practical knowledge on mattress stitching, shoulder seaming,  weaving in ends, and blocking methods. Also, the least 30 minutes of the class is perfect to pick the instructor’s brain with specific questions about a project that you may currently need to finish! Get ‘er done! No experience neccesary!

Lace Shawl

Whether you wear it like a kerchief or over your shoulders, you will wear it well! Lace shawls are beautiful and satisfying to knit and in this three-part class you will learn how to read lace charts, use stitch markers, do directional increase and decreases, and how to block your finished piece!

In this learning environment, participants must be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, and casting off.

Magic Loop Crash Course

Ever want to knit a hat, mitten, sock, sleeve, or other tube without double points? Take your tube-knittin’ to the next level and take this crash course on how to knit using the Magic Loop technique! We will get you going on how to cast on and set up your stitches, how to join your work, how to knit using the magic loop technique, and how to address common magic loop questions and concerns.  In this learning environment, participants must already know how to knit in the round and be comfortable with casting on, knitting, purling, basic ribbing, and casting off.

Sweater 101

If you are a newer knitter looking to knit your first sweater evah then Sweater 101 is the perfect solution for you!

This fun, four-part class will guide you through the mysteries of gauge swatching, top-down sweater construction, picking up stitches, and finishing techniques.

We will be using beautiful Brooklyn Tweed Quarry (a super lightweight yet bulky yarn) and “the Easy One” pattern by by the brilliant Joji Locatelli so that you are set up for sweater success.
